Mike Haenggi
Before Pilatus, Mike was the Senior Aviation Editor for MBI Publising, an aviation book publishing company based in St. Paul, Minnesota. There he directed the publication of more than 100 books about the history of aviation. These projects covered all kinds of aircraft, from the Wright Flyer to the Joint Strike Fighter, and included visits to aircraft manufacturers, airlines, military air bases, and international air shows each year. Assignments put him in many interesting places, including upside-down in a T-6 Texan taking air-to-air photos through an open canopy; hanging seven stories up from a catwalk above a 747 in its hangar; and crouching on the wind-blown deck of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier during flight operations.
An enthusiastic pilot, Mike learned to fly in a tail dragging Champ from a grass strip in the farmlands of western Wisconsin. Today, he is a rated CFII and an FAA Aviation Safety Counselor for the Denver FSDO. He flies mainly for pleasure around the beautiful mountains of Colorado and also for business in factory demonstrator PC-12s.Mike holds an MBA in Aerospace Business from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
