Phil Rosenbaum
2000-2004 President / Advisor
Austin, TXS/N #298 – N289PB
Phil Rosenbaum was born in a far away land (called New Jersey) a long time ago (called the 50s). Growing up, he was the kid who always looked up when a plane flew overhead (and as a result always got hit in the stomach by the baseball rather than catch it).
Graduating with a degree in Aerospace Engineering form Rutgers in 1972, Phil immediately entered the world of high technology business working for IBM selling mainframe computers to Bell Laboratories. Taking advantage of the myriad opportunities for professional development offered by IBM, Phil grew his professional skills inventory before departing IBM for the wild and wooly world of high tech start-up businesses.
Several iterations later, Rosenbaum had achieved a modicum of business success, which also provided a level of financial success. Determined not to allow financial success to become a driving force in his life,
Phil decided it was finally time to enter the realm of aircraft ownership.
Phil lives in Austin Texas with his tolerant and supportive wife Lisa, and his faithful dogs Champ and Edgar. Their daughter Jessica, a recent Wharton graduate, lives in NYC and is an analyst at Lazard Freres, and their daughter Kristyn is an undergraduate at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!). Needless to say, common destinations for Phil and Lisa's PC-12 flights include New York and Baton Rouge, as well as NJ, Denver, Dallas, Boston, San Francisco, Telluride, Eleuthera - Bahamas Islands, and the Turks and Caicos.
Phil served six years a member of the POPA Board of Directors since 2001. Currently, Phil remains on the POPA Board as a trusted advisor.
